Scarred for life

My dear sweet kids (and dear, sweet husband for that matter) frequently get pulled along for the ride when I'm working on a project. Since I'm terrible at saying "No" I am usually working on at least one project at any given time. Last summer, one of our projects involved working on a float for the Days of '47 Parade. It was a really cool experience! (Also a chilly one- we built the float inside the Utah Olympic Oval. We got to watch the US Speed skating team practice while being coached by Derek Parra. That's a whole other story.)

Anyway, fast forward to this week.

We were watching Mythbusters Friday where they doing experiments about golf. They were building a mock golf tee area and were stapling fake grass to a piece of plywood. Bless Lydia's heart, she got all excited and said, "Dad! Dad! Look! They're building a float!"

You can see the large amount of grass that covered our float and Lydia- then barely 2 yrs old- was there for much of the assembly. She will never look at plastic grass and flowers the same. No one here will...
